TO RAVIN'WOLF THE BLUES IS MOSTLY ABOUT HAVING NOTHIN'...
Tucked away in the sacred canyons of Central Washington State, where Seattle meets the Sage, is found RAVIN'WOLF, one of the Pacific Northwest's most captivating and in demand acoustic blues acts. This one of a kind pair slips in and out of the genre with ease to explore the psychedelic edges and defy the boundaries of their blues influences, to take their audience on a raunchy yet mystical journey into Sagebrush Blues...a shotgun wedding of blues rock fusion...and southern back-porch jelly...saddled up next to the pop edge...with an old school delivery.
Originally from the sagebrush in Kittitas County, they are deemed to be the next best 'new find' on the Seattle blues scene. RAVIN'WOLF was recently nominated for the "Best of the Blues 2010" Best Blues Solo/Duo Award by the Washington Blues Society of Seattle, and has been submerging themselves in feral blues & non-stop gigging, sharpening their double sided six-string performance to a razor's edge, honing their live performance together and becoming increasingly familiar as "that male-female duo that defies musical boundaries you've just gotta hear!" The Pacific Northwest's "best kept secret in blues" they tuck themselves into the wild west tourist towns, winery concert venues and festivals throughout the year where they are wowing surprised ears and leaving audiences wondering where they've been all this time.
Under the vigilant eye of founding members Jamey & FaeRaven, RAVIN'WOLF has gained creative strength over the past 2 years with a nomination for the 2010 Independent Music Awards. They are pleased to be enjoying the longevity of their artistry while undertaking a pathway into joint authorship and the publishing world as performing songwriters in the industry. In the years since their formation, they have had the privilege and testedness to headline with acts such as Elvin Bishop, Alice Stuart, Nick Vigarino, Terry Robb, Too Slim & the Taildraggers, Mary McPage and Seattle's Flowmotion & Deadwood Revival.
"...They make a lot of music with two acoustic guitars..."
- T. Clift (Arbor Crest Cellars)
The show they gave they other night was positively brimming with high energy and infectious enthusiasm and unceasing respect for their audience ...they played with a sort of unbridled heart and soul and power... and as the night wore on, they seemed to only get better and more determined than ever to give their loyal audience the (musical) ride of their life -- and that they did!!!" - John Pluntze, Sun Valley Online
(March 11,2010)
"...this one-of-a-kind acoustic blues pair slips in and out of the genre with ease to explore its edges and defy its boundaries, taking audiences on an enthusiastic journey on only two guitars..."- Vashon Island Beachcomber (January 27, 2010)
"...magic happens, beauty happens and it's coming from your soul."
- Bob Rivers, KZOK - The Bob Rivers Morning Show (Jan 21, 2010)
