Bio & description of music style: "Raw folk infused with upright jazz"
"Beth Whitney began song-writing at 16 when an intuitive gentleman handed
her a classical guitar at church where she grew up in Snohomish, WA. When
jazz performance major, Aaron Fishburn tapped on her practice room door at
Whitworth College late 2004, there fused folky, raw, reflective
song-writer, with a seasoned, toe-tappin, jazzy upright bass. Soon, the pair
took home first place at a YMCA talent contest in Shoreline, WA, second
place at their college's 'Pirate Idol,' voted finalists for Wenatchee's
Battle of the Bands, and most recently, winners of Caffe Mela's 2010 Battle
of the Bards. It wasn't long before some of Whitney's lyrics became romantic
in nature...the pair married in 2008 and now live and play their hearts out
in Leavenworth, WA, with many more music adventures to come. EP 'Yellow' to
be released July 2010. (Discography: 'Mud, Rock and Clay' 2004, 'Leave Your
Shoes' 2007, and online release 'Winter' 2008)"
